The Foam Maverick, from Flybar, INC. is a solid stick for young beginners, just getting into pogo. Comes fully assembles and operates off of a concealed steel spring, allowing for heights up to 18 inches. The handlebars (foam) and foot pegs (plastic) are designed specifically for ages 5-9 and the overall minimal dimensions of the pogo stick make it safe for children. The Foam Maverick is built to last a long time if used only by kids in its age/weight range for casual jumping. However, parents or older siblings refrain from bouncing on this stick, as heavier person could break the Foam Maverick without too much effort. Obviously the Foam Maverick won’t allow for much in the way of tricks or true fitness, but it is one of our top picks as a first stick for young kids.
