The Competitions

Big Air Freestyle

The main competition at Pogopalooza World Championships, Freestyle is an open park run, where athletes will bounce across obstacles, stringing together tricks and lines to impress judges and land a top score.

We’re bring it back for the spring stick lovers out there. An extremely difficult discipline to master, Tech is a precise fast paced run based competition where riders will push the limits of their balance on steel spring pogo sticks.

The classic pogo competition where riders are challenged to jump over a higher and higher bar, being eliminated if unsuccessful in three attempts.

Riders go head to head for 30 minutes to throw down the craziest, most innovative single trick they can. After 15 minutes the pool of riders is cut down to ten as the stakes go up.

15 & Under Bounce-Off

Kids 15 years old and younger compete to see who can bounce the longest. Each half hour the difficulty increases – bouncing with one hand, bouncing with no hands – Last person bouncing wins!

How Is The Competition Judged?

High Jump – Try to get over the heights, with the least number of attempts – Judges will determine what counts as an attempt, a non-attempt and a successful landing

Best Trick – Athletes will jam for 15 minutes, and then the Judges will select 10 competitors to continue attempts one-by-one. Athletes that landed a trick in the first 15 minutes are still qualified to podium.

Freestyle (Big Air + Tech) – 5 judges will submit scores: 50% style, 50% skill. These scores will be averaged, dropping the highest and lowest score. There’s the potential to lose 10 points for bails (5 per bail).

15 & Under Bounce-Off – Just keep jumping! Last person left bouncing wins. At the 30 minute mark we increase the stakes to bouncing with 1 hand,  then at the hour mark to bouncing with no hands!
