It’s been almost 5 years since we did the last Pogo Adventure, so we figured it was about time to go another round. There’s something alluring about being crammed into a car with your friends, driving a half-planned route around the country, and not knowing where you’re going to sleep each night. It’s awful at times, you’re constantly dirty and tired, but some of the greatest memories I have are from being on the road during Nick & Fred’s Pogo Adventure. Long drives through beautiful scenery, hilariously sketchy motels, gas station pogo sessions, ongoing inside jokes in the car, and no real agenda every day except to drive and pogo in a new place.
This time around we’re going to go bigger than ever before – more people, better cameras, and a much longer trip. The plan is about 22 days on the road, pogoing every day we can, and filming everything. We have no clue what’s going to happen, but I’m excited. Here we go again.
Kicking off day 1 of The Pogo Adventure.
Tone, Mena, and I flew down to San Antonio a few days early to buy a van off Craigslist. It’s got a few quirks (some doors don’t work) but it drives and it’s going to be our home for the rest of the month. We had a gig in Loredo, TX so we drove down for that and today headed back north to pick up Bryan and Ryan and really kick off this adventure. It rained the majority of the day, so no pogoing on day 1 – just a lot of packing and re-packing the van. As we were about to leave and head east towards New Orleans, we decided last minute to just go up to Austin, TX instead… and sleep in a Walmart parking lot. Off to a good start.
